This site is dedicated to the memory of Chip.

Milton Selby Collins, Jr. AKA....Chip was born in Bethesda, Maryland on July 19, 1954. Milton Selby “Chip” Collins passed away at his Community Living home on Tuesday March 12, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. He had been under the care of Hospice of Frederick County and was surrounded by family and staff who loved and cared for him over the past several years. Chip came to Community Living in 1977 after growing up on his family farm in Montgomery County where he attended Longview and Concord schools. He worked at the Jeanne Bussard Center in Frederick for nearly 30 years and most recently attended the Retirement Our Way (ROW) program for seniors at Community Living. Chip will be remembered as a fun loving man who brought joy to all who knew him. He loved to travel and would often go to Texas to see his brother Jack, Virginia to see his sister Sue, or North Carolina to visit his sister Pat. He recently went on a Disney cruise with his long time roommates Wes and Jimmy. He was always certain to attend the large family reunions the Collins family held. Chip had a particular talent for creating latch-hook rugs which he proudly displayed in his home. Chip’s family and caregivers wish to thank Doctors Hudhud and Ganion as well as Chip’s other healthcare providers who gave us another year with him after his initial diagnosis. Community Living extends our deepest gratitude to Chip’s family for their tremendous support over the years and to his care providers Angelique, Amanda, Emanuel and the staff in ROW, who made his life fun and happy. Services will be _____. The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to benefit Community Living’s new vocational services program. Donations can be sent to 620 B Research Ct. Frederick, MD 21703 attn: Sarah Matthews.
